La Unique | Antique Tea Cup Dealer E-Commerce

Project: La Unique Tea Company | Tea Cup Dealer (E-commerce)

My Role:  UI UX and Design

Deliverables: Research, Wire-frames, User Personas, User Story, Hi-fi prototype(Invision)

Client: The client used to run one of the busiest tea houses in Vancouver voted best place for an english tea party by the Georgia Straight. She had to retire and sell her shop in 2017 due to medical reasons and approached me to help her move her tea cup collection.

Project: How does one sell unique and antique table-wear online in 2018 in a new engaging way? La Unique brings together beautiful UI UX with the rarest tea cups in the world for a once an auction pretty enough to subscribe to! Each month a 100+ will be sold to the highest bidder for built in engagement.

Process: The client loved flowers and fresh ones were a regular site at her tea shop.
I wanted to incorporate this love for the flowers into my designs and thought it was a good balance to the very flamboyant tea cups and table-wear. Since the cups are vintage it would be silly to use new flowers. I started to create my floral pattern by separating vintage flower illustrations from old texts then dropping the saturation. I also thought a tea cart icon would make a lovely shopping cart alternative.
